Hasan Piker doubled down on his claim that America deserved 9/11 this past week in an interview with Axios, during which he compared the U.S. to al-Qaeda. Now, he claims to love America. Today on The Editors, Rich asks Charlie what he makes of it.
“This is a line you will hear on the left . . . that the speaker loves the United States because of what it could be. Nope, sorry! Please don’t misunderstand me. Criticizing the United States is fine,” Charlie explains, “. . . but Hasan Piker’s view is that the United States is a rotten, terrible place . . . that it is comparable to al-Qaeda.
“You don’t then get to say you love it. You don’t love something that you believe to be wicked purely because if you got your own way and completely recast it, it would be more to your liking. That’s not what love is.
“I love America . . . Hasan Piker does not love America.”
