This was clearly a move Pelosi had to make, but, as made clear by Hastings’ statement, this won’t be a bloodless one. I’m curious as to what sort of negotiations (or at least conversations) the Speaker-in-waiting had with the CBC. We’ll know much more about just how extensive the political fallout is when we see react from such top black Dems as Rangel, Conyers, J Lewis and Mel Watt, the current chair of the CBC.
