Health-Care Fantasies

Jonathan Chait still thinks I’m fantasizing when I say that Obamacare could eventually be repealed and replaced. The difference between my position (it’s more possible than a lot of people think) and his (it’s “not impossible” but a “long, long shot”) is perhaps not worth extended discussion. All I will concede to his argument is that if Obamacare proves enduringly popular in states now categorized as light blue, then repeal will indeed be off the table.

A number of correspondents ask me whether a Republican Congress could cut off funding for Obamacare. I wrote a post on that subject a couple of weeks ago.
