Hearty Constitution

Today’s Between the Covers podcast is with Hillsdale College president Larry Arnn, author of The Founders’ Key: The Divine and Natural Connection Between the Declaration and the Constitution and What We Risk by Losing It. We discuss Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s quote about how she wouldn’t view the U.S. Constitution as a model for constitution-writers in 2012, whether the Constitution is too simple and quaint for our complicated times, and if the United States is still a self-governing nation. Arnn also discusses Hillsdale’s new project: Constitution 101, a 10-week online course that starts next week.

John J. Miller, the national correspondent for National Review and host of its Great Books podcast, is the director of the Dow Journalism Program at Hillsdale College. He is the author of A Gift of Freedom: How the John M. Olin Foundation Changed America.
