A Helluva Text Message

So, Cuban state security has sent pro-democracy activists a text message: “As soon as the Pope leaves, we are going to disappear you all.” (“Tan pronto como se vaya el #PapaCuba los vamos a desaparecer a todos ustedes.”)

The thing about these totalitarian dictatorships: Unlike politicians in good ol’ democracies, they usually mean what they say.

According to the Assembly of the Cuban Resistance, state security has detained some 180 activists, while Pope Benedict is around. To read more, go here.
