Lonegan and Booker face off in a special election tomorrow, Wednesday, October 16, 2013. (Why a Wednesday? According to news accounts, this was the very first date a vote legally could be held to fill the seat that was vacated when Democrat Frank Lautenberg passed away.)
Lonegan enjoys a Jersey bounce in the polls, leads independent voters by some measures, and boasts continued momentum since Saturday’s well-attended Tea Party Express rally in the Garden State town of New Egypt. Conservative author, attorney, and radio host Mark Levin stumped for Lonegan, as did former Alaska governor Sarah Palin. “Cory Booker poll numbers in free fall 2 days ahead of N.J. Senate election,” read a headline in Monday’s Washington Times.
Grassroots efforts from across the country can help Lonegan, the former twelve-year, tax-cutting mayor of Bogota, N.J. (a town that voted 67.5 percent for Obama in 2012), and seven-year state director for the pro-market Americans for Prosperity. If Lonegan can defeat Booker, Obama’s Mini Me, he will capture a long-time Democrat seat for the Republican party and, in so doing, complicate life for Senate Democrat chief Harry Reid and his boss, Obama.

The Conservative Campaign Committee invites financial support for its $106,000 money bomb to purchase last-minute pro-Lonegan ads. Since this vote happens tomorrow, turnout will likely be low. Contacting pro-market, pro-liberty voters could trap Booker in Newark with his composite friends and pay-to-play pals.
