Help Us Get to $50,000

National Review founder William F. Buckley Jr. (National Review)

We are off to a strong start with our fall fundraiser and are looking to get to $50,000 as the next step. We are at roughly $42,000, so we’re not far away. Since I wrote my initial appeal, we’ve had a scoop here and a scoop there, and the usual helping of indispensable commentary on politics and culture, including this excoriating editorial on the absurd freak-out over Trump’s White House renovation. As always, we are the place for independent, honest conservative thought beholden to no faction. If you value what we do, please chip in any amount from $5 to $5,000.

P.S.: Often in the past during these drives, I’ve ribbed Mark Wright (who wrote the appeal immediately preceding this one), about Oklahoma Sooners football. But as a fan of a one-loss team, the highly ranked and rising Virginia Cavaliers, I think it would be unsporting of me to dunk on the two-loss and descending Sooners. So, I’m not going to get into it, especially after Ole Miss put up nine unanswered points in the fourth quarter to defeat Oklahoma on Saturday.
