In 1964, four young men formed a folk group called The Goldwaters; they even put out an LP called The Goldwaters Sing Folks Songs to Bug the Liberals, with songs such as “Win in ‘64” and “Row Our Own Boat.” Their names, according to the back of the album jacket, are Bob Green, Fred Quan, Kenneth Crook, and Jim Vantrease.
Are you one of these guys? Do you know one of these guys? Did you ever hear The Goldwaters perform?
If so, please contact me at nrorocks-at-yahoo.com. My friend Mike Long and I hope to revive interest in this unjustly forgotten folk-music phenomenon through a multimedia extravaganza on NRO. But first we’d like to talk to the principals and hear their stories.
And yes, I’ve googled The Goldwaters. The best resource is this one, which includes an image of the album cover and other information.
I’m blegging you, please help if you can!
