An article in today’s Washington Post begins to dismantle the ridiculous left-wing fantasies of New Yorker writer Seymour M. Hersh. It turns out, contrary to Hersh’s feverish speculations, that the Catholic group Opus Dei does not control the Pentagon or U.S. foreign policy. Yet the Post still feels compelled to call Hersh a “legendary” reporter who owns a “long and distinguished career.” This should have stopped long ago. The man has committed fraudulent journalism for years. Here’s my investigation into his work, written almost a decade ago. The experience taught me at least one thing: Nothing Hersh writes is to be trusted.
