The Corner

Hil & Bill, Part Two

Sen. Clinton did herself a lot of good by toe-to-toe with O’Reilly with good cheer and shrewd feistiness.  She says things that are ridiculous — e.g., that Pakistan “just had an election where the Islamist party lost,” when in fact Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League, a fundamentalist party, is now a key part of the coalition government that is making treaties with the jihadists while President Musharraf, who has at least occasionally fought the jihadists, is about to be cashiered.  But such things will be meaningless to most people.  They’ll see that Hillary seemed comfortable, confident, occasionally funny, and never let O’Reilly throw her off stride.  With Obama reeling and appearing to reel, she looks increasingly in control.
