Hillary Clinton made a surprise appearance on the Colbert Report on Tuesday night to one-up the comedian on how many famous people she knows.
Unimpressed with the constant name-dropping in Clinton’s book, Hard Choices, Colbert nevertheless excitedly welcomed the former secretary of state — the audience began chanting “Hillary! Hillary! Hillary!” when she came out. The two then began rattling off the names of their various acquaintances, including George Clooney, Ecuadorian president Rafael Correa, Oprah, and Afghan president Hamid Karzai.
Colbert tried to outshine Clinton by noting he has interviewed Bill Clinton, who Hillary said she had met before too.
Before leaving, Clinton threatened to not appear on Colbert’s show if he did not plug her book, which confused the host since she was already on the show. Snapping her finger, Clinton pixilated her face until Colbert gave in to her demand.
