Hillary Bull

Jonah:

You say “the phrase ‘It Takes a Village…’ doesn’t originate with

Hillary Clinton (it’s an African proverb, after all)…”

So Mrs. Clinton told us. Do you believe it, though? It always

sounded to me like something someone came up with in a late-night

college-dorm lefty bull session.

I shall, however, kowtow to Mrs. Clinton’s superior understanding if

anyone can tell me which part of Africa the saying originates in, and

what it looks like in whichever African language gave birth to it.
