Hillary Clinton is still reeling from comments she made claiming she and her husband were “dead broke” upon leaving the White House, and even Rahm Emanuel can’t believe she made that claim.
“I’ve been reading a lot about the kick-off for the book tour,” the Chicago mayor said to Clinton at an event to promote the release of Hard Choices. “‘Hillary: Dead Broke’ — really?” he laughed.
“That may have not been the most artful way of saying that Bill and I have gone through a lot of different phases in our lives — that was then, this is now,” Clinton responded. “Obviously, we are very fortunate.”
