Clinton Aides Huma Abedin, Jake Sullivan to Headline Scandal Fundraiser

Top Hillary Clinton aides Huma Abedin and Jake Sullivan, who are themselves embroiled in the ongoing Clinton e-mail scandal, will headline an event with the cast of the hit television show Scandal in Washington, D.C., next week.

An e-mail apparently sent on Thursday by Tony Podesta, a Democratic political strategist and the brother of Clinton campaign chair John Podesta, invites Democratic donors to the Hillary for America PAC to attend the star-studded dinner to be held on April 27. Variety reports that those wishing to attend need to shell out at least $250, with a maximum $5,000 PAC donation granting “co-host” status as well as a private reception with the Scandal actors.

Abedin and Sullivan are both in the midst of an FBI investigation into their potential mishandling of classified information while they were aides to Clinton at the State Department. Abedin may soon be grilled by lawyers from the conservative group Judicial Watch as to why Clinton maintained and operated a private e-mail server out of her Chappaqua, New York basement.

Clinton herself also seems to be a Scandal fan. The Democratic front-runner stopped by the show’s Los Angeles set in February, prompting an #imwithher selfie with the program’s star, Kerry Washington.
