FBI Ends Hillary Email Investigation, Recommends No Charges

FBI director James Comey says that Hillary Clinton and her staff were “extremely careless” in handling sensitive information — including several emails that contained ”top secret” information — but announced during a Tuesday morning press conference that the FBI is not recommending criminal charges. “No reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case,” said Comey.

Whether or not to bring charges is ultimately up to Loretta Lynch, but the attorney general has said that she intends to follow the FBI’s recommendation.
