In collaboration with NRO, Hillsdale College presents the latest segment of its online course “American Heritage”: The Gilded Age and the Robber Barons. This section features Hillsdale professor of history Burt Folsom and National Review’s John J. Miller. In this seventh Q&A session for the course, Professor Folsom answers questions submitted by course participants on topics such as the myths about the industrialists, often referred to as “robber barons,” of the late 19th and early 20th century, and the economic and political conditions necessary for a new generation of entrepreneurs.
