Historic Doesn’t Always Mean Good

One last point about Meet the Press. This morning, David Gregory said:

Speaking about balance, Mike Murphy, there’s a lot of Republicans who, who seek a little balance in all of this discussion of history. There’s a, a congressman who wrote on his Web site, “Just because it’s historic doesn’t mean it’s good.”

Maybe I just couldn’t read Gregory’s tone. But does anybody in the world disagree with that point? The arguments over health-care reform aside, does anybody disagree? Just because something is an historic accomplishment, never mind an historic expansion of government, that in of itself doesn’t make it good, right?
