Hope Halved

For weeks now we have been hearing that 4 million people would turn up for the Obama inauguration next month. Now it seems we’ll be hearing that 2 million people will turn up. As the Washington Post notes this morning, neither number is based on all that much, and we probably won’t even have a good estimate after the fact of how many people were there.
