I have sympathy for officials dealing with the awful spectacle in Zanesville. I certainly understand that it might be necessary to kill some of these dangerous animals. And I understand that no one really has a contingency plan for this sort of thing. It’s just an awful situation. Still, as an animal guy, it breaks my heart they couldn’t find a way to tranquilize more of them. An ugly end to an ugly life is no way for a beautiful creature to go.
