Members of the NR family have been honored by the New York Times for writing some of the best books of the year. Christopher Buckley’s Losing Mum and Pup: A Memoir made the list of the hundred most notable books of 2009. And Terry Teachout’s Pops: A Life of Louis Armstrong was chosen by Pulitzer Prize-winning critic Michiko Kakutani for her personal top-ten list. (Occasional NR contributor Thomas Mallon’s Yours Ever: People and Their Letters also made the top hundred.)
