House Could Reconvene to Pass Latest ‘Stimulus’

Politico reports that Nancy Pelosi is considering calling the House back from recess to pass the latest Democratic “stimulus” spending bill, a $26.1 billion state and local aid package aimed at propping up teacher salaries and subsidizing state Medicaid payments. The bill has cleared cloture and budget point-of-order votes in the Senate, after Majority Leader Reid amended it to include spending offsets and, through the Medicaid payments, “found a formula that impacted Maine — and its Republican senators” Snowe and Collins.

UPDATE: It’s official: Pelosi will call the House back into session.
