House Resolution Officially Authorizing Libya Ops Fails

By a vote of 123–295, the House of Representatives has rejected a resolution that would have explicitly authorized the ongoing military intervention in Libya. Early word is that eight Republicans voted in favor of authorization: Dent (Pa.), Dreier (Calif.), S.King (Iowa), P.King (New York), Kinzinger (Ill.), McCotter (Mich.), Rivera (Fla.), and Rogers (Mich.).

There will likely be a second vote today on whether to cut off funding for operations.
