The House vs. Airline Unions

Late last year, I wrote about a National Mediation Board decision that, by changing a 75-year-old rule, made it easier for unions to organize airline workers. Today, the House passed the FAA Reauthorization and Reform Act — including a controversial provision that changes the rule back.

NR’s editors urged the House to pass the bill with the provision intact earlier this week. President Obama has threatened a veto, but regardless, this helps to set the tone for the House regarding organized labor.
