This Is How it STARTs

Earlier today, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted 14-4 to pass New START along to the floor of the Senate for final consideration. All eleven Democrats on the committee were joined by three Republicans: ranking member Lugar (Ind.), and Sens. Isakson (Ga.) and Corker (Tenn.).

But Rich and  I rounded up contrary takes on New START from Tim Pawlenty, Newt Gingrich, John Thune, Mitt Romney, and John Bolton. To a man, they think it’s a bad — and worse still, vague — agreement that hampers our ability to develop missile defense systems and gives Russia with a massive nuclear warhead advantage.
