I briefly published a post tonight (at this URL) based on an incomplete understanding of the Trump immigration proposal. While media reports didn’t mention it, it turns out the full one-pager from the White House has also been leaked and says the changes to legal immigration would be “prospective[],” apparently meaning they wouldn’t take place until the backlog of applicants is cleared. While these changes would be dramatic if they actually went into effect, Mark Krikorian is right that they would take a long time to do so. I regret the error.
