Former Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean excoriated his party for running from President Obama over the midterm campaign, claiming their fear of “standing for something” led to their catastrophic losses on Tuesday.
“The Republican message was, ‘We’re not Obama,’” he told NBC’s Chuck Todd. “No substance whatsoever, ‘We’re not Obama.’ What was the Democrats’ message? ‘Oh well, we’re really not either!’”
“You cannot win if you are afraid!” Dean continued. “Where the hell is the Democratic party? You gotta stand for something if you want to win!”
