I was floating around the Capitol this morning as the voting was happening and the Republican staff response was just a wee bit bummed that Hoyer won. Murtha would obviously make for, well, a lot of colorful crap, to use his lingo. Hoyer’s obviously the better choice for the Dems and will be more effective (and better for the country than Murtha, even if he’s all wrong). And he will probably be Speaker if the GOP doesn’t take the House back in two years. Grandma’s tenure as Speaker I predict will be a short one — either because the GOP takes it back, of he shows her up in the coming two years with members.
