Derb: I’m a fan of H. P. Lovecraft’s fiction and have written about it here. I would wager that this is the only article ever to compare a cry for Yog-Sothoth to the screams of Howard Dean.
On many cultural questions, Lovecraft was a traditionalist. But he was also an atheist and, on economic matters, a socialist. He isn’t much of a model for conservatives today. But he sure could write haunting stories.
