Hug a Geek

Sunday is Geek Pride Day. Don’t forget to buy a card for the geek you love, preferably one (one card, not one geek … although …) with lots of imbedded microelectronics.

If you can’t make it to the Fifth Avenue parade, don’t worry, we’ll be YouTubing the whole thing. That’ll be me on the prime number float, dressed as the number 57, which, as well as being the number of states that Barack Obama believes comprise our union, is also “Grothendieck’s Prime” (a math insider joke: see Unknown Quantity, p.310).
