Hurricane GOP, Cont’d

A new New York Times / CBS poll is a mixed bag for Republicans that, as one would expect, accentuates the negative. But it also shows the two forces that could create the perfect storm for a GOP takeover:

the highest proportion of Americans in two decades say it is time for their own member of Congress to be replaced, and voters are expressing widespread dissatisfaction with President Obama’s leadership.

The poll has President Obama’s approval split at 45/47, with only 41 percent of respondents approving of his handling of the economy, and 57 percent believing he has no clear plan for solving the nation’s problems.
