I Love It

Anti-war protesters invoked Lincoln’s famous declaration: “There’s no honorable way to kill, no gentle way to destroy. There’s nothing good in war except its ending.” Alas, that’s actually from an episode of Star Trek, specifically one of my favorite ones, “The Savage Curtain” (#77), which has come up around here several times for Lincoln’s more memorable utterance to Lt. Uhuru, “My, what a charming negress.” Maybe at the next rally, they can just drone on “Help me, Spock. Hellllllp meeeeeee Spooooocccccccccckkk.”
