I Prefer Judge Lamberth’s Idea of Engaging Iran

The D.C. District Court has ruled that Iran must pay $1 billion in punitive damages for the 1983 bombing in Beirut that killed 241 U.S. Marines and Naval personnel. That’s computed at roughly five times the annual amount by which the mullahs underwrite Hezbollah. Judge Royce Lamberth also ordered tens of millions in compensatory damages. Good luck ever seeing a dime of it, but it’s nice to see someone in this government not appeasing our enemies.
