I Saw the Sign. SO WHAT?

Campaigners don’t like me:

K-Lo,

It is people like you that drive campaign workers nuts. Yard signs do not matter in a presidential election. They are only useful to increase name ID and make volunteers feel good for 5 minutes. They are essential in a race for city council but once you get to the congressional level and above they don’t matter, except to obsessed supporters who refuse to make phone calls until they get their yard sign, which the AFL-CIO promptly pays someone to steal.

In Michigan in 2004 the AFL-CIO was paying more per sign than it cost the campaign to have them made. Many campaign workers thought about turning in the signs and using the profits to have more printed or to pay for more useful voter contact.

Fine. I won’t buy one. Saves me money.
