In following the debate now on the House floor on immigration I never cease to be amazed at how sophomoric and two-dimensional congressional deliberations are. Anyway, there’s good news (no, I did not save money by switching to GEICO) — Jeff Flake’s guestworker provision was deleted a few hours ago at the insistence of the pro-border-control Republicans, who threatened to kill the whole bill if it remained. Also, the White House has announced its support of the bill, even as it restated support for guestworkers.
