If Ayers Comes Up Tonight . . .

As you may know, McCain has befriended, or otherwise embraced, many a radical — former radical, however. These are people who were, not anti-war, but pro-Communist during Vietnam. He can say in debate, “I’ve befriended radicals from the ’60s and early ’70s. The difference between them and Ayers is: They’re repentant. Ayers is proud of his violent leftism, and wishes he and his comrades had done more.”

I don’t know how useful the above would be in debate: but it’s true.

Now, it also may be that Obama didn’t know about Ayers, his mate, Bernadine, and the Weathermen. But if he didn’t — what does that do to the myth of Obama’s omniscience? And if Palin were ignorant of all this . . .
