A headline at Salon reads:
If Americans cared as much about their voting rights as their gun rights, they’d be up in arms right now
The piece criticizes voter-ID laws, but the author does not seem to appreciate that you cannot walk into a gun shop and guy a pistol without an ID. In most cases, a real, government-issued, photo ID, with your date of birth on it. In lots of cases, you get a background check, too, and in some cases you get fingerprinted. By way of comparison, voting is a snap. If ballots were bullets? Yeah, it would be a heck of a lot harder to vote.
