If You’Re Getting Nervous, Irritable, and Edgy

I have two suggestions:

1) Pour yourself a double scotch, neat or with a little branch water. (Confession: I don’t actually know what “branch water” is. Does anyone else?) I’m drinking the Balvenie, a single malt, and I’m enjoying the 21-year-old, port wood-aged variety. It’s exceedingly smooth, with great complexity and depth of flavor. (Or “flavour.”)

2) Consult The Horserace Blog which does a remarkably good job of separating out good methodology from bad and predicting what can actually be predicted from the data available.

His criticisms of journalists are also insightful.
