I am not sure whether JPod will agree or disagree with this comment, but I think his remarks could inadvertently leave a mistaken impression. It may be true that a zero immigration policy is unpopular: I have not seen any numbers on that. But a majority of the public (according to polls) favors reduced immigration, including reduced legal immigration. Thinking that current levels of legal immigration are problematic is not a fringe position (not that there’s anything wrong with holding fringe positions!).
