Immigration, Europe, Africa

If you’re interested in the immigration issue and/or the fate of Europe, Christopher Caldwell’s piece, “Europe’s Future” is well worth a read.  Europe is being washed by a wave boat people from Africa, who use Spain’s lax immigration rules as back-door entrance to the whole EU. This new route from the Third World to Europe is still only something slightly more than a trickle, yet could someday become a flood. What makes Caldwell’s article especially interesting is that he went to Africa, not just Europe, to get the story. Caldwell is working on a book on European immigration, and his command of the issue is awesome.
