Impeaching Judges

Elon Musk keeps saying we have to impeach judges for being corrupt or overstepping their bounds. I have no objection in principle to removing judges from the bench if corruption is proven or if they clearly exceed their legitimate authority — although the successful impeachments of judges in U.S. history have had to do with corruption and personal failings rather than solely opposition to decisions.

None of his tweets, however, take account of the fact that removing judges from office via impeachment requires a two-thirds vote of the Senate. If it is “the only way” to save democracy, as he says, we’re already done.
