In its shabby, seemingly never-ending campaign against George Allen’s haircut remarks, the Washington Post on Sunday played a shabby game. Its outraged Indian-Americans were presented as nonpartisan – when a little Googling quickly showed they were liberals and Democratic contributors.
In the meantime, readers of the Washington Post haven’t read single word yet in the paper about Post reporter Thomas Ricks wildly claiming on CNN that the Israelis were deliberately letting Hezbollah keep weapons to kill their civilians so they could gain points in the PR war. Even Washington Post editor Len Downie smacking Ricks for his stupid remarks didn’t make the paper. Couldn’t we agree this at least matches Mo-hawka in the seriousness department? Or is it only worth discussing if Tom Ricks runs for president? (He certainly thinks he could do the job better than Bush.)
