Earlier this week, I wrote about the duplicitous “rape” cries coming down on Virginia’s ultrasound bill. Legal abortion supporter Carole Joffe appears to agree, writing on Slate:
It will be adding insult to injury if abortion patients—already beleaguered by so many obstacles to accessing this procedure quickly and with dignity—were to internalize the message that the transvaginal ultrasound they will likely be asked to undergo is tantamount to rape.
The buy-in to the lies about that Virginia bill was widespread and mainstream. The record ought to be corrected, especially as we face hearing the same attack on similar bills in other states …
