Insurance Brokers Blast Obamacare Glitches

You don’t have to trust just the consumers: Insurance brokers are saying Obamacare’s well-documented launch problems have made using the law’s new marketplaces akin to dealing with the DMV or the IRS.

Robert Rusbuldt, president and CEO of Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America, said “significant” technological glitches had made it difficult for “consumers, agents, brokers, navigators, and all those using the system to actually use it.” According to Rusbuldt, those glitches have caused many agents to counsel their clients to delay signing up for the health exchanges.

“As you know, the websites in many instances have crashed. The call centers are long waits,” Rusbuldt said. “I have had a couple of agents and brokers tell me today that if you like dealing with the DMV or the IRS, you’ll love dealing with Obamacare.”

But then again, no president in modern memory has been on the receiving end of such overwhelmingly negative media coverage and a three-year effort to abort his presidency, beginning the day after his election. Do we remember the effort to ... Read More
