Insurance Executives in Arkansas: 170 Enrolled On Federal Exchange

Arkansas joins the list of states with paltry Obamacare enrollment numbers: Executives from three of the state’s four insurance companies using the federal exchange told the state legislature’s oversight committee that they had enrolled fewer than 170 people in Obamacare.

Blue Cross Blue Shield said it had enrolled fewer than 100, QualChoice of Arkansas said it had enrolled less than 50, and Arkansas Health & Wellness Solutions has enrolled under 20.

The three CEOs did testify that their companies had not sent any cancellation notices to their policy holders; the state’s Insurance Department has allowed the providers to extend non-grandfathered plans to cover people until December 31, 2014, so they’re exempt from the minimum coverage standards set by Obamacare come January 1.
