The Corner

Iraq and Iran

Secretary Rumsfeld is drawing the connection between Iraq and Iran. I wish the administration had done this sooner. I don’t doubt the Iran problem been at the forefront of the administration’s calculations in Iraq all along. But the administration likely didn’t want to be viewed as unnecessarily provocative with Iran. Iran’s nuclear defiance and wild rhetoric have removed the need for that restraint. (Or maybe it’s just that Rumsfeld reads The Corner.)
