Iraqi Police Cars

From a reader:

Dear Mr. Goldberg,

Having spent the summer helping to rebuilding, among other things, police forces in Tikrit and Kirkuk and other places accross the Suni Triangle, I can tell you that police are a big priority in rebuilding Police forces. The thing you have to remember is that literally every police station in Iraq was looted and the police officers themselves ran for their lives. In May, when this process started, we had nothing, no police, no weapons, no stations, nothing. A lot of cars came in over the summer. The problem is slowly being resovled. As for your guy in Bahgdad, I am sure he is getting paid, has a weapon, a radio, a uniform, and works in a nice police station. They will get to the car.
