Yeah, probably. The game is manifestly better thanks to him, and now he’s taking the next big step in proposing an automated challenge system for balls-and-strikes calls. Challenges aren’t ideal. They introduce an element of delay and are going to be arbitrarily limited to two per team per game. What about all the other obviously erroneous calls thanks to human error, including umpires getting fooled by catchers blatantly moving their gloves into the strike zone after receiving the ball? Well, you’re just out of luck. But clearly the challenge system is a way station to full automation (after perhaps another way station with an allowance for more challenges per game).
