While 14 of his Republican colleagues have already vowed to filibuster the Democrats’ gun-control package, Senator Johnny Isakson of Georgia said he believes the Senate should vote on the measures. “There’s no ambivalence on the gun issue. I think everybody knows what the issues are,” Isakson said today on This Morning. “I think it deserves a vote up or down,” he added, though he hasn’t seen the final draft of the legislation.
Rand Paul is leading an effort among Republican senators to filibuster the new gun-control package. Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and Mike Lee are part of the effort, and minority leader Mitch McConnell said yesterday that he would also join the filibuster.
