Issues Trump Politicking

I hope this is the last time we start hearing about how there will be salvation through “the 72 Hour plan” and the “GOTV Machine” and all that political techno-worship. Elections turn on issues. That stuff worked in 2004 because Bush had reached his voters on issues and it only took a little urging to get a whole bunch of them to turn out. This time it didn’t work because the issues went the other way.

Also, by definition, you can only out-politick your rival once using something like “the 72 Hour plan” because your rival can duplicate it.
