We’re getting a new definition of weekend warriors with this administration. We’re in negotiations with a pliant Iran on weekdays when the market is open. And we’re on the edge of blowing them up like never before after markets close on Friday. Last week Trump had said that Iran had until Friday to open the Strait of Hormuz. Then on Thursday, he called off the threat, a pause for ten days after productive conversation. On Friday, in a Miami speech, he again made promises of fireworks. “They don’t know what’s happening,” he said, advertising, “another big day” of attacks.
Last night, Trump made his latest weekly case that the Iran War is basically over and the Iranians are going to play nice from now on. “We’ve already had regime change,” he said. And the second team had been killed, too. We’re on to the third group, “a whole different group of people,” who have “been very reasonable.”
